Stem steam

National STEM/STEAM day is November 8. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, with STEAM including the Arts. Stem and steam education 3D measurement optical technologies have become more precise, simple to use and portable than ever before, making 3D scanners a perfect addition to STEM programming. 3D scanning helps students visualize objects and learn how three-dimensional design is made possible through reverse engineering.

The opinions on that aren’t unanimous, but most parents and families agree about the end goal – that school curriculum should foster innovation, develop 21st century skills, and teach young people to think both logically and creatively.

STEAM on the other hand, ties all of the rigid information STEM has to offer into a creative package. In a sense, STEAM encourages students to think through a logical and analytical perspective, but approach problems with out-of-the-box creativity. The Benefits of STEAM Education Many schools now offer STEAM programs at the K-12 levels. However, very few universities or colleges offer specific degree or diploma programs built around STEAM. Here’s the good news: most undergraduate programs in math and science are built with STEM in mind. If you have electives, you can (and should) take some courses in arts and humanities subjects to broaden your skill set.
