Program of Study: Major: Computer Science
Learning a particular programming language is on a totally different plane to learning about an area of computer science — learning a language is much easier and much less valuable. If you already know a couple of languages, we strongly suggest simply following our guide and fitting language acquisition in the gaps, or leaving it for afterwards. If you’ve learned programming well (such as through Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs), and especially if you have learned compilers, it should take you little more than a weekend to learn the essentials of a new language, after which you can learn about the libraries/tooling/ecosystem on the job. Mathematics and Computer Science, BSc (Hons) 35 points overall with 18 points at Higher level to include 5 in HL Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches or 6 in HL Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation or 5 in HL Computing. If only Computing is offered from the IB, Grade B or above in GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent) is required.

The requirements for the professional track include all those of the standard track, as well as the following: Semester 2 Mainly offered as a 3-4 year degree program, the BSc Computer Science syllabus encompasses a wide range of subjects spread across its 6-8 semesters, beginning from the foundation of Computer Science basics to Programming Concepts, Data Structures, System Programming, Software Engineering, Network Security, etc.
